Lit-Scapes Book Retreat

Join us for a weekend of reading & relaxing

I sanctioned last year "the year of the reader/writer" and when I'm in - I'm all in! I completed the Pop Sugar Reading Challenge after 7 years of failed attempts, am working on revisions to my own manuscript, facilitating Graffiti Book Club, and participated in an artist midwife group. I also attended my first artist residency in Joshua Tree this past May and now with fellow reader/friend/educator, Amy Madigan, by my side we're ready to co-launch our first ever Lit-Scapes book retreat,

The Backstory

Amy and I have been swapping book magic for over 25 years - it all started when she introduced me to her quote book in a dorm room at John Carroll University. Naturally, this led to me starting my own collection of curated words. After college, Amy and I begin to drift - we were busy moms living in different cities just trying to keep up with the daily grind. At some point, we decided we were overdue for a visit and booked tickets on a whim to a weekend yoga festival in Philadelphia. We had so much fun, that we decided we should be more diligent about reuniting every few years. Well, every few years has turned into every year, in large part due to the incredible time we had on our New England literary themed road trip.

During that trip, we read quietly to ourselves, and aloud to each other. We offered reading recommendations. We laid in the grass under the sun quoting poetry at the Emily Dickinson museum. We attended a performance of the work of Edgar Allan Poe at the House of the Seven Gables. We learned about Mark Twain at the tour of his residence. We witnessed how nature serves as a Muse while watching a glorious sunset amid multi-colored leaves on an unseasonably warm day at Walden Pond over a Halloween weekend. We paid our respects to the great writers of the past by visiting their graves at Author's Ridge.

Now we want to share some of the magic that we cultivated on that literary joyride with you!

Come Escape into a world where stories come alive at Lit-Scapes, where every page turns into an unforgettable experience.
